SLE of the Week: Be a responsible citizen who uses technology appropriately.
***Progress Reports were updated on 5/4. Please make sure you sign and return the paper from Ms. Boyle saying you looked at your child's Progress Report***
***We are now completely out of lined paper and glue sticks. Please make sure your child has these supplies, as well as, crayons and erasers...I have noticed a lot of children borrowing these items from classmates lately. If you would like to donate pencils, glue sticks, crayons, or erasers to the class please provide a receipt to earn service hours.***
**From now on, everything must be done in cursive....all classwork, homework, quizzes, and tests! Please remind your child of this as they complete their homework!**
**AR Goal is 15 points with 85% (or more) comprehension per trimester**
**Practice of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts should be happening nightly so mastery can occur by the end of 3rd grade**
This week’s objectives are:
Religion: We are continuing the family life program Growing in Love this week. We will be covering Ch. 2 and starting Ch. 3 this week. There is a parent/child homework paper at the end of each chapter that must be completed together and SIGNED/INITIALED by the parent to receive credit. Please look out for those! We will also be doing Ch. 21 in our Faith First book: The Psalms and Stewardship. Test on Friday.
Math: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be practicing both multiplication and division facts with your child DAILY! Many still do not have them memorized! This week we are finishing up Ch. 12. We will quiz on Thursday and test on Friday. We will also be reviewing minute maths of multiplication and division for the remainder of the year.
Reading: This week we will be continuing Theme 6, with the story Pepita Talks Twice. We will review and test on Thursday. We will also be writing a persuasive essay, please look out for the homework!
Spelling: summer, winter, little, October, travel, color, icicle, trouble, angle, hamburger, apple, able, November, ever, later, purple, mumble, waiter, tackle, thermometer

Grammar: Reviewing verbs (linking verbs vs. action verbs, "to be" variations, etc.)
Science: Unit A, Ch. 4: Changing Environments. This week we will review and test on Friday.
Social Studies: Unit 5: The Southwest, Ch. 11: People of the Southwest. This week we will review and test on Thursday.
